On April 1, 2026, our community came together to kick off Child Abuse Prevention Month at a Pinwheels Ceremony at Zahra Baker All Children’s Playground, where more than 2,000 pinwheels were planted as a powerful visual reminder of our shared commitment to protecting children and supporting families.

Pinwheels for Prevention is a national campaign that uses blue pinwheels, displayed throughout the month of April, as a symbol of the happy, healthy childhood every child deserves. The pinwheel represents hope, safety, and the importance of creating nurturing environments where children can thrive. Each display helps spark meaningful conversations about how we can all play a role in prevention.
